Rural Areas Community Initiatives Fund
Grants of £500 to £5000 are available for capital projects which aim to improve the quality of life for people living in rural communities. You will need to get the backing of your ward councillor and we will give you a decision as quickly as possible.
St Edmundsbury Borough council has set up a Rural Areas Community Initiatives Fund as part of its commitment to supporting rural areas. It provides money for capital projects which could not be launched without some extra financial help.
However, each scheme should also include money from either the applicant or another source of funding. It should be an investment in the local area and could be a building, equipment or environmental work.
Parish councils and other organisations with links to villages in the borough can apply.
This can include both community and social enterprise.
Who can apply?
Any group or organisation can apply, including parish councils and community enterprises, which are independent, non-profit making and properly run through voluntary management committees.
