Cycle the Dedham Vale © DV AONB

The meandering lanes and picturesque byways of the Stour Valley are ideal for cyclists, and seeing the Dedham Vale from the saddle guarantees plenty of gorgeous scenery.  The terrain is gently undulating, with a network of quiet country lanes and gentle slopes making it easy and enjoyable for cyclists of all abilities. The area rests on National Cycle Route 1 and also plays host to the Cycle South Suffolk route as well as the Painter’s Trail – a 69 mile cycle route exploring the area's most artistic locations which can be broken down into shorter stages for easier day rides.

The project produces a number of publications and guides to the area, including cycle guides. Visit our Publications section of the website for more information.

NEW OUT are the Cycling the Masterpiece guides (in the Publications-Recreation Guides section) - FREE to download.
