The Stour Valley Path

The Stour Valley Path is a 60 mile route following the valley sides of the River Stour through the beautiful Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire countryside, including the Dedham Vale AONB.

A public transport itinerary pack 'Days Out Along the Stour Valley Path' has been developed to allow walkers to do the path in stretches and take a bus or train back to a start point. You can purchase the pack from us, or from one of the local Visitor Information Centres.

The Dedham Vale AONB and Stour Valley Project has also produced a range of circular walks leaflets that are free to download.

There are also many different walks that you can go on which venture off the Stour Valley Path. Some of which can be enjoyed with the use of one of the guides produced by The Dedham Vale AONB. To download or purchase these guides please visit our Publications page.

As well as walking you can now take part in the Geocaching phenomenon whilst you enjoy the beautiful countryside. We have put together some free downloadable leaflets which can accompany you and aid you in finding little treasure chests along the walk. They will tell you the different GPS coordinates which you require to discover each location. All you need is a GPS device and some determination. For more information please visit the Geocache Guide Page where you can also find the downloadable leaflets. Have fun and good luck.
