Other volunteering opportunities

Becoming a Stour Valley Volunteer isn’t the only way you can help to look after the Stour Valley environment. There a number of other organisations and groups looking for volunteers to support them in their work, and a variety of things you might be able to help with – from tree-planting to fundraising!

The Conservation Volunteers run practical conservation projects from their base in Colchester.

The National Trust also run a number of conservation work days on their land in and around Flatford.

The Suffolk Wildlife Trust and Essex Wildlife Trust occasionally have work days on their reserves in the valley inlcuding Daws Hall, Loshes Meadow, Cornard Mere and Spouses Vale.

There are also a number of local community groups within the Stour Valley who have their own local projects, and are always looking for new people to help. Please contact the relevant group directly for more information.

Whichever organisation or community group you decide to join, you can be sure of a warm welcome, with the opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, learn new skills, meet new people and make a positive contribution to this special area.
