Stour Valley Educational Network (SVEN)
The Stour Valley Educational Network (SVEN) brings together the organisations involved in the delivery of environmental education in the Dedham Vale & Stour Valley, in both Suffolk and Essex. It is a forum for sharing ideas and best practice and to encourage wider involvement in environmental education and outdoor learning in the area.
*NEW* - SVEN has produced four factsheets aimed at Key Stage 2 children and their families to raise awareness of the landscape, heritage, culture and wildlife of the Stour Valley and encourage discovery.
You can download the factsheets below or contact the AONB to be sent a free copy - we hope you have fun exploring!
2018 - SVEN EVENTS!
The SVEN members have a series events happening throughout 2018. See the AONB events calendar or download this leaflet for details.
SVEN's key aims are to:
- Bring together outdoor education delivery groups within the Dedham Vale & Stour Valley
- Undertake a consultation with local schools to establish their needs, aspirations, skills and awareness of education provisions available
- Produce a directory of providers for schools
- Run an Outdoor Learning Conference for primary teachers
Who will benefit from the Project?
The direct beneficiaries are the organisations that work within the project area. Co-working will strengthen the environmental education team in the Dedham Vale & Stour Valley and increase awareness of the facilities available which will cascade to the teachers, students and children.
Many organisations helped to create SVEN, including; The Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Daws Hall Education Trust, Freelance Environmental Educator, Gainsborough House, RSPB - Flatford Wildlife Garden, Essex Wildlife Trust and many more. Download the directory below for the full list of those involved in SVEN.
