Funding available for ‘valley’ good ideas -

Grants still available from Dedham Vale AONB Sustainable Development Fund (SDF). Funding is still available this year from the Dedham Vale Sustainable Development Fund. The Fund is administered by the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Stour Valley Project and aims to help local communities and groups make a difference in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty by promoting sustainable development. The Fund can provide up to 75% of the total project cost (100% in exceptional cases). more...

Following on from the success of last year’s guided walks around Dedham, Dedham Vale AONB and Stour Valley Project are delighted to announce the launch of this year’s series of summer walks, led by Colchester Blue Badge Guides. The walks highlight the architectural features of Dedham, as well as its connections to England’s greatest landscape painter – John Constable, before rounding off with a visit to the stunning home and grounds of Sir Alfred Munnings – Castle House, where there is also the opportunity to relax and enjoy a refreshing cup of tea in the Studio Tearoom. more...
Digging for victory in National Volunteers' Week

Parts of an old kitchen garden at Valley Farm in Flatford are getting a makeover on Tuesday 8th June 2010. The Stour Valley Volunteers from the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and Stour Valley Project, and volunteers from the National Trust are joining forces to dig out weeds and shrubs, put up rabbit fencing and prepare beds for planting. more...

Over 100 people from Suffolk and Essex packed into Bures Village Hall yesterday for the launch of the new management plan for the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Stour Valley Project. The plan detailed what activities will be undertaken in the next five years to conserve and enhance the unique landscape, environment and heritage features of the area which attracts huge numbers of visitors each year. more...

May is a special month for the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty because it is exactly 40 years since the AONB was designated in 1970. The exact date is actually the 20th May, but throughout the month, the team at the AONB are celebrating the anniversary.more...
