- What to look out for in the valley
The Stour Valley is a quiet rural area, with no motorways and few dual carriageways. Traffic has a huge impact on the environment - choking our towns, polluting the air, making roads unsafe for other users and causing hold-ups.
Think carefully about how you travel in the Stour Valley, you can help “Keep it Special”

If you do use your car
Remember, many of the roads in the valley are narrow and not appropriate for modern traffic size, volume and speed.
Be prepared to share these small roads with tractors, combine harvesters, horse-riders and cyclists – reflecting the everyday life of rural roads. Most roads have no footways, so walkers will also be using them.
