From time to time there will be diversions or temporary closures of some sections of the walking and cycling routes promoted in the AONB.

Any changes or updates will be posted on this page, as well as being shared on our social media channels.

Temporary Closure in Thurlow

There is a temporary closure on the Stour Valley Path in Great/Little Thurlow due to an unsafe footbridge.

See map for alternative route through Great Thurlow. It is likely this will remain closed until June 2022.

Fen Bridge Closure

Fen Footbridge located between Dedham and Flatford will be closed until further notice (National Grid Reference: NGR TM 06742 33609).

This is due to ongoing health & safety inspections and monitoring which now indicate the bridge is in danger of collapse so under no circumstances should anyone attempt to navigate beneath the bridge at present. Signage and navigation closure booms are being placed on site and Local Authority Highways Contrcators are looking into portage provision around the closure until they can undertake remedial works.
